Getting Started with C
Install a C compiler, write your first program, compile and run it, and learn variables, assignment, expressions, and reading user input.
You do not need to understand pointers, memory layouts, or compiler internals to write your first C program. You only need a text file, a compiler, and a terminal.
This module is the true starting line of the track. It assumes you have never written C before — or perhaps never written any programming language. You will install a C compiler, type your first program, compile it, run it, and then learn how variables store values, how expressions calculate results, and how to read input from a person at the keyboard. Everything here is intentionally small so you can focus on the rhythm of writing, compiling, running, and fixing code before the track moves into memory mechanics and systems programming.
