The C Systems Programming Track
From writing your first Hello World program to building high-performance systems software — pointers, memory, concurrency, POSIX, and custom allocators in C.
This track teaches C from the ground up. You start with the absolute basics — writing your first program, variables, decisions, loops, functions, arrays, strings, and pointers — with no prior programming knowledge assumed. Foundations first teaches portable C syntax, data, control flow, memory, and compilation. Core then turns those building blocks into maintainable programs with explicit ownership, reusable APIs, dynamic data structures, and low-level I/O. Advanced is intentionally Linux/POSIX-focused: processes, threads, sockets, event loops, and systems diagnostics. Expert is implementation-specific and combines x86-64 ABI details, assembly context switching, and cooperative runtimes. Each lesson traces exactly what the CPU does, so you see your code run step by step instead of guessing. By the end, you can write deterministic, high-performance systems software in C and recognize which guarantees come from ISO C, POSIX, Linux, or a particular CPU ABI.
